The impact of increasing interest rates, inflation and geopolitical uncertainty began to slowly influence TMT M&A data in H1 2023. How did this influence deal value and volume and were there any areas of notable activity? 

Highlights from the full report include:

- Europe TMT records strongest H1 for M&A Volumes in five years (up 5% YoY), despite fall in Values
- Asia TMT is strongest region for M&A Volumes (up by 10% YoY), despite fall in Values
- The US increases its share of outbound M&A in Europe TMT - up to 32% from 26%
- UAE makes huge gains as buyer and seller in MEA TMT, doubling its percentage share in both
- PE/VC- backed deals declined slightly in Europe and Americas, but dropped significantly in Asia and MEA
- 1300+ TMT M&A Deals in the pipeline for H2 2023 and beyond- this is despite strong headwinds
- The proportion of deals by strategic buyers increased in all regions- up to 75% in Europe, 93% in MEA, 72% in Americas, and 90% in Asia
